• 9/17/2018 Gov. Malloy Releases Annual Report on Utility Cybersecurity Reviews

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the Connecticut Critical Infrastructure 2018 Annual Report, a comprehensive review the state’s electric, natural gas, and large water companies’ efforts to detect and prevent cybersecurity threats. The report stated that while Connecticut’s utilities faced more frequent and sophisticated penetration attempts in the past year, they were met with “adequate defense capabilities.”

• 9/10/2018 Gov. Malloy Statement on Accusations of an Illegal Kickback Scheme Between a Florida-Based Compound Pharmacy and Connecticut State Employees

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement regarding an announcement made this afternoon by Attorney General George Jepsen that the state has initiated a lawsuit alleging violations of the Connecticut False Claims Act orchestrated through a kickback pyramid scheme involving a Florida-based compounding pharmacy and several individuals, including former and current Connecticut state employees.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman are inviting members of the public to attend the State of Connecticut’s 17th annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, honoring and celebrating the lives of those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

• 9/23/2018 Gov. Malloy Receives Report Showing Crime in Connecticut Continuing Downward Trend so Far This Year

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today said that a report released by the state’s criminal justice policy and planning office and underscored by data released this morning from the FBI indicates continued, positive trends in the administration’s efforts to reduce crime in Connecticut. Since the Governor took office in 2011, statistics show that the overall crime in the state has declined 19 percent, including a 19 percent decline in violent crimes.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the recently completed, third westbound lane on I-84 in Waterbury, stretching from Washington Street to Austin Road, will open to drivers for regular use beginning on the night of Friday, September 28.

• 9/5/2018 Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Receives $12.2 Million to Support the State’s First Health Information Exchange System

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut will receive a $12.2 million grant to support ongoing work that will establish Connecticut’s first statewide health information exchange. The grant, awarded by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to the Connecticut Office of Health Strategy (OHS), supports efforts to develop a secure, modern health information exchange that facilitates the sharing of health data to further patient care, improve proper efficiency, and rein in the high cost of healthcare.

• 9/6/2018 Gov. Malloy: Hartford Line Exceeds 69,000 Passenger Rides in First Six Weeks of Operation

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner James P. Redeker today announced that the recently launched CTrail Hartford Line saw a total of 69,067 passenger trips during its first six weeks of operation through July 31, 2018 – not including the opening weekend of June 16 and 17 when service was free.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a unit of Connecticut National Guard soldiers are continuing to assist with Hurricane Florence relief efforts throughout the North Carolina area. To date, the eleven guardsmen have performed multiple search and rescue missions, providing life-saving evacuation measures for those in communities completely cut off by the rising waters.

• 9/26/2018 Gov. Malloy Announces $2.1 Million Federal Grant to Improve Labor Force Services Returning to Work After an Illness or Injury

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) has been awarded a $2.1 million federal grant as part of the Retaining Employment and Talent After Injury/Illness Network (RETAIN) initiative, designed to improve the retention of workers after an illness or injury. The grant, which as a focus on providing more proactive stay-at-work/return-to-work (SAW/RTW) services, will test the impact of early intervention on SAW/RTW outcomes.

• 9/13/2018 Gov. Malloy: UConn Bus Line Exceeds 115,000 Passenger Trips in First Year of Operation

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the recently launched bus service that – for the first time ever – provides UConn students, faculty, and staff the ability to connect via public transit to the main UConn campus in Storrs, the downtown Hartford campus, and UConn Health in Farmington, in addition to a variety of other destinations in between, saw 115,493 passenger trips during its first year of operation.

• 9/9/2018 Gov. Malloy Announces Flags Will Be Flown at Half-Staff Tuesday in Observation of 9/11 Anniversary

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that U.S. and state flags in Connecticut will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 men, women, and children who lost their lives in the 2001 terrorist attacks. Accordingly, since no flag should fly higher than the U.S. flag, all other flags – including state, municipal, corporate, or otherwise – should also be lowered during this same duration of time.
