Gov. Malloy Orders Extension of All Motor Vehicle Deadlines & Expiration Dates
Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Monday morning ordered that all expiration dates and periods of validity for motor vehicle registrations, licenses, permits, certificates and other forms of credentials issued by or on behalf of the Department of Motor Vehicles be immediately extended until further notice due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy on Connecticut.

Gov. Malloy: Federal Grants Awarded to Support Extended Learning in High-Need Schools
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that fourteen grant applications from municipalities throughout the state, totaling more than $2.5 million, have been approved as part of the United States Department of Education’s 21st Century Community Learning Center initiative, which supports programs that help children in high-need schools succeed academically by increasing access to extended learning opportunities.

Gov. Malloy: Charter Communications Establishing Corporate Headquarters in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that Charter Communications, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and the fourth-largest cable operator in the United States, plans to establish its headquarter office in downtown Stamford. Charter will invest more than $10 million and intends to bring 200 jobs to the area, which includes the majority of its executive officers. Charter will lease an approximately 70,000 square foot space at 400 Atlantic Street.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Barkhamsted and Thomaston will receive Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) emergency management funds for infrastructure projects that will help protect public safety during storms and other emergencies.

Redeker in evaluating proposals for the redevelopment of the Stamford Transportation Center's parking garage and providing guidance in ensuring that the redevelopment best reflects local priorities and the needs of the community.
