Monday: Gov. Malloy Updates Media on Impact of Hurricane Sandy
On Monday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold three media briefings at the state Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Hartford to provide updates on Connecticut's response to Hurricane Sandy – the first at 8:30 a.m., followed by another at noon, and then a third at 6:00 p.m.

Gov. Malloy Nominates Six to Fill Vacancies on Superior Court
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced he has nominated six individuals to serve as judges on the Connecticut Superior Court, filling a portion of the 23 judicial vacancies on the court that currently exist due to retirements or elevations to higher courts.

Gov. Malloy Unveils Pension Proposal That Will Save Taxpayers Nearly $6 Billion Over Twenty Years
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced a change to the pension funding plan that will avoid a spike in the state’s obligation in Fiscal Year (FY) 2032, avoiding a potential fiscal crisis. Under the current contribution plan, the state would have to make a one-time payment of $4.5 billion in FY2032 in order to reach full funding. The restructuring will save the state nearly $6 billion over the next 20 years, and put the pension system on the road to long-term sustainability, something that is currently not the case.

Gov. Malloy: Residents Seeking Federal Assistance Must Register With FEMA
After receiving notification of the federal assistance available to cities and towns, businesses, individuals, and non-profits in Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London Counties, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that residents in those counties who suffered damage as a result of Hurricane Sandy must register with FEMA by phone or online to access that aid.

Gov. Malloy Orders Voter Registration Deadline Extended to Thursday at 8PM
In response to the dangerous weather impacting the state from Hurricane Sandy, Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Sunday evening signed an executive order extending the in-person voter registration deadline in Connecticut to Thursday, November 1, at 8 p.m. for those who intend to vote in the upcoming election. The deadline had originally been scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, at 8 p.m.

Gov. Malloy Orders Local Officials on Shoreline Towns from Greenwich to Old Saybrook to "High Alert"
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, based on the most recent data from the National Weather Service which suggests that the strong possibility exists for historic flooding at high tide later tonight, convened an emergency call at approximately 8:15pm with the mayors and first selectmen of the coastal towns that comprise the state’s Regions 1 and 2.
