Gov. Malloy Announces Arrival of New Biopharmaceutical Company
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the state will provide up to $2.25 million in grants to Durata Therapeutics, Inc. to support the relocation of its research and development, clinical, and regulatory operations from New Jersey to Branford. The company, whose headquarters are in Chicago, Illinois, will create up to 80 new, full-time jobs in Connecticut.

Gov. Malloy: Infinity Music Hall Coming to Hartford
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) has requested $1.3 million in bond funding to assist Norfolk's Infinity Music Hall and Bistro in opening a second, larger location in the Front Street District of Hartford.

Gov. Malloy Appoints Three to CT Housing Finance Authority Board
Governor Dannel P. Malloy has appointed three state residents to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA). Kathleen Corbet of New Canaan, Nuala Droney of West Hartford and Richard Orr of West Hartford joined the board at the end of August.

Gov. Malloy: Cable Manufacturer Expanding in Plainfield
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the state will provide a $1.5 million loan to support C&M Technologies’ plan to acquire more manufacturing equipment. The project will help retain the company’s current 178 employees and will allow the company to add 21 full-time positions in the next two years.

Gov. Malloy Directs Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Ambassador Stevens and the Victims of the Attack in Libya
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, following a proclamation by President Barack Obama, today ordered U.S. and Connecticut flags to fly at half-staff until sunset on September 16, 2012 in honor of Ambassador John Christopher Stevens and the American personnel who were killed in Benghazi, Libya yesterday.

Gov. Malloy: Frito-Lay to Expand in Killingly
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the state will assist Frito-Lay North America Inc., a division of PepsiCo, with an expansion of its distribution and manufacturing plant in Killingly. The plant, which employs more than 600 full-time employees, services Connecticut and other Northeast retailers, and exports products for the military overseas.

Gov. Malloy: State Awarded $5M to Expand and Enhance Supportive Housing
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Department of Children and Families (DCF) Commissioner Joette Katz today announced that the state has been awarded a $5 million federal grant to expand and enhance a DCF program designed to reduce the number of children in foster care by providing supportive housing and necessary services to vulnerable and homeless families. Connecticut is one of five jurisdictions around the country to be awarded the funding.
