Data Release: Daily Statistics of Pretrial Inmates Accused of Misdemeanors, 5/17/16
Today, the Office of Governor Dannel P. Malloy released May 17, 2016 numbers for those accused of misdemeanor crimes who are currently in jail awaiting trial. Often, many of those pre-trial detainees are in prison because they cannot come up with even a few hundred dollars in bail.

Gov. Malloy: Significant Results Generated in State’s Campaign to End Family Homelessness
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the State of Connecticut and its partners in the nonprofit sector matched 280 families, including 548 children and 438 adults, to housing during the last three months as part of the Governor’s Challenge on Family Homelessness – a campaign to house as many homeless families in the state as possible. Launched in September, the initiative was part of the administration’s ongoing goal to eliminate all forms of homelessness in the state.

Gov. Malloy: State Resurfaced 261 Two-Lane Miles of Roadways in 2018
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Commissioner James P. Redeker today announced that state resurfaced a total of 261 two-lane miles of roadways in 2018. CTDOT also completed 38 two-lane miles as part of the pavement preservation program, which includes crack-filling, surface patching, drainage repairs, and other rehabilitation work prior to resurfacing to extend the life of existing roadways.

Malloy today announced that he is directing U.S. and State of Connecticut flags to remain flying at half-staff on Friday, December 7, 2018, in recognition of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The national observation honors the lives lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.

Gov. Malloy Announces $30.8 Million in Grants to Assist Nonprofit Providers With Capital Improvement Projects
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that approximately $30.8 million in state grants are being awarded to 92 nonprofit organizations throughout Connecticut as part of the state’s Nonprofit Grant Program, which assists organizations with the costs associated with one-time infrastructure improvements that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the services provided by the organizations.

Gov. Malloy Commemorates Imminent Completion of Silver Sands State Park Renovations
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Department of Energy and Environment Protection (DEEP) Commissioner Rob Klee today cut a ribbon to celebrate the imminent completion of long-awaited renovations at Silver Sands State Park in Milford. The project, which will be fully completed by the beginning of the 2019 beach season, includes three new buildings, including a concession building, restrooms, and offices. A new beach boardwalk will connect the previously existing boardwalk to the bathhouse, and a short new boardwalk across the tidal wetlands will connect the existing main boardwalk to the new bathhouse.

Gov. Malloy Releases Climate Change Recommendations, Adds Connecticut to Newly Formed Coalition Addressing Transportation-Related Emissions
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the final set of recommendations from the Governor’s Council on Climate Change (GC3), which will establish a sustainable path for achieving Connecticut’s long-term vision for decarbonizing our economy in order to address the problem of human-induced climate change. The policy recommendations are focused on three broad objectives: zero-carbon electricity generation; clean transportation; and clean, efficient, and resilient buildings.
