  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that over 20 Connecticut communities have been awarded grants by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) to prevent youth substance use and be used to support Connecticut's Second Chance-related initiatives.

• 9/15/2015 Gov. Malloy & Conn. Delegation: Connecticut Awarded Grant to Advance Economic Development Plans Across the Hartford Rail Line Corridor

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the members of Connecticut's Congressional delegation today announced that the State of Connecticut has been awarded $700,000 grant from the Federal Transit Administration to conduct a study of transit-oriented development (TOD) opportunities in the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail corridor, also known as the Hartford Line.  The federal funding will be matched by $200,000 in state funds.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the state Department of Labor's Division of Wage and Workplace Standards recovered more than $6.1 million in unpaid wages for Connecticut workers during the fiscal year that ended June 30.

Redeker and other state and local officials at the Flatbush Avenue CTfastrak station in Hartford to announce that the bus rapid transit system has reached a major milestone - one million passenger trips since its launch earlier this spring.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the members of Connecticut's Congressional delegation today announced that the Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) has been awarded over $2.6 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) - $2.1 million of which will be used to replace its outdated unemployment insurance computer system, while the remainder will be used to continue a successful fraud prevention partnership program.

• 9/18/2015 Gov. Malloy Announces ‘Q Bridge’ Project, the Biggest in CTDOT History, Completed Ahead of Schedule

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the southbound side of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge on I-95 in New Haven - informally known as the Q Bridge - is scheduled to open approximately eight months ahead of schedule.  Construction of the main span bridge was completed in July 2015 on schedule and on budget.  Four lanes of the new southbound bridge are scheduled to open to vehicles the week of September 28, providing much needed relief for tens of thousands of residents who face congestion in the corridor and enhancing the region's overall economic competitiveness.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that all construction and paving activities on state roads and highways will be suspended over the coming Labor Day weekend - the unofficial end to the summer travel season and traditionally one of the busiest traffic weekends of the year - in order to prioritize the convenience of motorists and help ease congestion.

• 9/22/2015 Gov. Malloy Announces New Capital Dollars to Expand CTfastrak into East Hartford and Manchester

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State Bond Commission next week is scheduled to vote on a $7 million allocation that will allow the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) to purchase buses and other capital equipment necessary to expand CTfastrak east of the Connecticut River into East Hartford and Manchester.
