Gov. Malloy Announces Funding to Make Renovations to the Historic Colt Park in Hartford
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a combination of federal, state, and local grants will help make significant renovations to Hartford’s Colt Park that will allow residents to enjoy the historic site for years to come. He joined Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congressman John B. Larson, Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, and Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Commissioner Robert Klee at the park this afternoon to make the announcement.

Gov. Malloy Appoints Doug Dalena as General Counsel
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is appointing Doug Dalena to serve as General Counsel in the Office of the Governor. Dalena currently works in the office as Deputy General Counsel. He joined the Office of the Governor in 2015.

Gov. Malloy Statement on June Employment Numbers
Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement on the monthly Labor Situation Report, which shows that 6,100 jobs were created in June and the unemployment rate dropped to 4.4 percent. In addition, May’s numbers were revised up by 2,000 to a total of 6,100 new jobs.

Gov. Malloy Announces Jackson Laboratory Exceeds Job Creation Goal in Connecticut, Workforce Anticipated to Nearly Double in the Coming Years
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that because The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) has exceeded its initial employment goals years ahead of schedule, the state has forgiven $165.9 million in loans used to construct their state-of-the art 185,000 square foot building on the campus of UConn Health.

Gov. Malloy Announces ‘Q Bridge’ to Be Lit Red, White, and Blue for Independence Day
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut will illuminate the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven – informally known by residents as the Q Bridge – in red, white, and blue lights on the evenings of Tuesday, July 3 and Wednesday, July 4, in observation of Independence Day. Beacons capable of projecting light nearly six miles into the clear night sky will be lit until 1:00 a.m. during those nights.

Malloy today announced that – in accordance with a presidential proclamation directing flags to be lowered to half-staff throughout the country for one day in honor of the victims of the mass shooting at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland – U.S. and state flags in Connecticut will fly at half-staff beginning immediately until sunset on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

Gov. Malloy: KPMG to Add 110 New Jobs in Stamford
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, plans to add 110 jobs over the next five years in a new Stamford office. The company recently signed a long-term lease and plans to renovate space in the former UBS building at 677 Washington Boulevard, which it expects to occupy next spring.
