Gov. Malloy: Newly Launched Hartford Line Attracted 21,850 Riders on its Opening, Free Travel Weekend
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the CTrail Hartford Line attracted a total of 21,850 riders over the course of its two-day opening weekend of service, during which travel was free to celebrate the launch. Sunday attracted a phenomenal response of 11,550 riders, surpassing the 10,300 who rode the train on its opening day of service the day prior.

Gov. Malloy Directs Flags to Return to Full-Staff on Tuesday Evening
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that U.S. and state flags should return to full-staff at sunset on the evening of Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Flags have been flying at half-staff across the state in honor of Connecticut State Police Trooper First Class Walter Greene, who passed away in the line of duty following a courageous battle with cancer as the result of his response and service in support of New York City in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Gov. Malloy: Free Travel Weekend on Hartford Line Rail Service Attracts Over 10,300 Train Riders on First Day
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that over 10,300 people rode the CTrail Hartford Line during its opening day of service on Saturday, June 16. Travel on the new rail service is free for all customers on opening weekend and continues through Sunday, June 17. Because of the significant demand on opening day, additional service will be added on Sunday.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he will appoint Scott Jackson, who is currently the Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL), to serve as Commissioner of the Department of Revenue Services (DRS). With Jackson’s departure from CTDOL, Governor Malloy will appoint the agency’s Deputy Commissioner, Kurt Westby, to serve as its Commissioner.

Gov. Malloy: Military Personnel and Their Families Receive Free Admission to Over 50 Connecticut Museums This Summer

Malloy today announced that over 50 museums in Connecticut are offering free admission this summer to active duty members of the military and their families as part of the ninth annual Blue Star Museums Program. Available between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the program is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Blue Star Families and the U.S. Department of Defense.
