Gov. Malloy Reminds Residents to Take Precautions During Periods of Extreme Heat
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging Connecticut residents, particularly those who are most vulnerable, to take precautions during the excessive heat and humidity over the next few days as a heat advisory is in effect for the entire state. Those who are looking for a place to get out of the heat can locate their nearest cooling center by calling 2-1-1.

Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman: Sergeant John A. Chapman Represents the Best of Connecticut and the Nation
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today said that United States Air Force Technical Sergeant John A. Chapman of Windsor Locks is a hero who represents the best of Connecticut and the United States. He is being posthumously awarded with the Medal of Honor at a ceremony this afternoon in the White House for the actions he took in 2002 while serving in Afghanistan that saved the lives of his teammates at the sacrifice of his own.

Labor Day Charts: Private Sector Job Growth Under Gov. Malloy Strongest in Recent Memory
The Office of Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released a series of charts showing that private-sector job growth under Governor Malloy has significantly exceeded that of any of his predecessors, while the size and scope of government has shrunk. Indeed, since the Governor took office in January 2011, the number of private sector jobs in Connecticut has increased by over 94,000 – a nearly 7 percent increase – while at the same time the government sector has decreased by nearly 6.5 percent.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Labor Department Recovers $4.9 Million in Owed Wages for Workers
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) has recovered more than $4.9 million in unpaid wages for Connecticut workers during the fiscal year that ended June 30.

Gov. Malloy Announces $61.5 Million to Support Affordable Housing Development in Diverse Communities
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Department of Housing (DOH) Commissioner Evonne M. Klein, and Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) Executive Director Karl Kilduff today announced that the State of Connecticut will award more than $61.5 million in grants and loans to help create, rehabilitate, or expand 24 housing developments in 20 towns and cities across the state. The investments will create or rehabilitate 978 homes.
