Gov. Malloy Congratulates the Conn. Department of Transportation on Receiving Top Prize for Q Bridge Project at National Competition
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is congratulating the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) for earning the Grand Prize at the 2016 America’s Transportation Awards competition in recognition of the agency’s successful work on creating the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven. The state was honored with the top prize in the national competition, which attracted a record 84 project nominees from 39 state transportation departments plus the District of Columbia.

Gov. Malloy Announces Launch of New State Initiative Targeted at Combating Youth Homelessness
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH) Commissioner Evonne M. Klein today announced that the State of Connecticut is launching a new, first-of-its-kind initiative that will focus on building supportive housing for youths between the ages of 18 to 24 who are homeless. November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month and this funding comes at a time when Connecticut is focusing its efforts on expanding access to affordable housing opportunities for everyone.

Gov. Malloy Advances Commitment to Storm Resiliency With Funding for New Microgrids

Gov. Malloy Announces 'Q Bridge' to be Lit Red, White, and Blue for Veterans Day
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven - informally known as the Q Bridge - will be lit red, white, and blue on the nights of Thursday, November 10, and Friday, November 11, in observation of Veterans Day. Beacons capable of projecting light nearly six miles into the clear night sky will be lit until 1:00 a.m. during those nights.

Gov. Malloy Announces State Grants to Assist Fifteen Small Towns with Capital Improvement Projects
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that fifteen towns throughout Connecticut have been approved to receive funding under the state's Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP), which assists smaller communities with infrastructure and capital improvement projects. Gov. Malloy Proposes Reforming Alcohol Pricing to Lower Costs for Consumers

Malloy today announced that he has introduced legislation that will empower businesses by modifying a 1981 state law, which mandates that retailers of alcoholic beverages sell their products at certain - and artificially high - prices. The proposal will put the authority to determine the prices of these products back into the hands of retailers and out of the hands of government.

Malloy today announced that 16 municipalities across Connecticut are being awarded $8.7 million in state grants that will help the communities revitalize and remediate specific properties so they can be put back into productive use and attract new development that will benefit each town and city.
