Gov. Malloy: Ten Municipalities and Three Transit Districts to Share $20M Federal Grant for Transportation Projects
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that ten Connecticut municipalities and three transit districts will share a $20 million federal grant for transportation projects designed to improve the flow of traffic, improve air quality, and reduce energy use.

Gov. Malloy Announces Funding for Local Transportation Maintenance and State Road Paving
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the release of the second of two $30 million installments of Town Aid Road funding for cities and towns across Connecticut - a total of $60 million statewide. The funding continues an increased amount for municipal purposes, which prior to the Malloy administration had received lower amounts ranging from $12.5 million to $30 million. In addition, an allocation of $68.9 million has also been approved to cover the costs associated with resurfacing state roadways this year.

Gov. Malloy Announces Davis-Standard Expanding Manufacturing Facility in Pawcatuck
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Davis-Standard, LLC, the leading manufacturer of extrusion machinery in the country, is expanding its primary facility at its headquarters in Pawcatuck, in a plan that includes adding 15,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 30 jobs in the next two years to its largest global site, which currently employs over 400 people.

Gov. Malloy Reminds Residents that Atlantic Hurricane Season Begins Today
With the first day of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season beginning today, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and state emergency management officials are reminding Connecticut residents to be prepared for any severe weather that may impact the state. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with the principal threat period for Connecticut occurring from mid-August to mid-October.

Gov. Malloy Announces Plan to Remove Traffic Signals on Route 9 in Middletown, Reconfigure Highway to Improve Traffic Flow
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) today announced the details of an innovative solution to resolve several long-standing traffic issues along Route 9 in Middletown to help improve traffic flow. The plans include raising the highway, removing the two traffic signals that are now on the road, reconfiguring entrance and exit ramps, and creating a bicycle and pedestrian bridge connecting downtown Middletown and the park along the Connecticut River.

Gov. Malloy Announces State Begins Zika Awareness Campaign at Bradley International Airport
With the summer travel season kicking into high gear over the next several weeks, Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, and other state officials today announced that a Zika education and warning campaign will soon be underway at Bradley International Airport. The campaign, a joint effort between the state Department of Public Health (DPH), Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA), federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and JetBlue, will focus on passengers traveling to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico on JetBlue's two daily flights, but will also be seen by other travelers who may be connecting through other airports on their way to areas in the Caribbean, or Central/South America currently affected by Zika virus.

Gov. Malloy Announces Latest Round of Funding to Help Remediate and Revitalize Connecticut Brownfields
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) is providing $7.9 million in grants to 14 towns and cities across the state for brownfield remediation and assessment activities. The projects comprise 187 acres of redevelopment.

Gov. Malloy Announces 'Q Bridge' to be Lit Red, White and Blue for Independence Day Weekend
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven - informally known as the Q Bridge - will be lit in red, white, and blue this weekend in observation of Independence Day. This will be the first time the recently renovated bridge will receive a full lighting, which will include the towers, anchor piers, and cable stays. This is the first bridge in Connecticut with this type of versatile, commemorative lighting.

Gov. Malloy and State Officials Announce Federal Grant to Continue Supporting Housing for Veteranserans
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut is receiving a federal grant of nearly $400,000 that will support 43 new HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) vouchers, which combines rental assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and case management services from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to support veterans who are at risk of homelessness.
