Gov. Malloy: New FBI Data Shows Connecticut Saw Second Largest Violent Crime Drop in the Nation
Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement after new 2015 crime numbers released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) showed that Connecticut had the second largest drop in violent crime across the nation over the previous year. The 8.5 percent drop in violent crime in 2015 builds upon a significant drop violent crime in 2014 and 2013. Connecticut's violent crime rate is now at the lowest levels since 1974, with the overall crime rate the lowest since 1967.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy, state and local leaders, and executives from Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky today released additional details on the agreement announced yesterday that will keep Sikorsky's worldwide headquarters in Connecticut, where they will retain and grow approximately 8,000 jobs and dramatically increase their investments among Connecticut suppliers.

Gov. Malloy: Sikorsky Agreement Will Benefit Connecticut Suppliers and Small Businesses
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today highlighted part of the agreement that Lockheed Martin reached with the state that - in addition to committing to keep Sikorsky Aircraft and approximately 8,000 jobs in Connecticut through at least 2032 - will see the company's annual spending with in-state Connecticut suppliers nearly double. Currently, Sikorsky spends about $350 million per year with local suppliers, which are located throughout all regions of the state.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman released the following statements in response to an affirmative vote in both chambers of the Connecticut General Assembly this afternoon approving the state's agreement with Lockheed Martin that will keep Sikorsky Aircraft's worldwide headquarters located in Stratford through at least 2032, where the company will retain and grow approximately 8,000 direct jobs. As part of the agreement, Sikorsky has also pledged to nearly double its spending of $350 million per year among in-state suppliers.

Gov. Malloy and Lockheed Martin Reach Deal to Keep Sikorsky Headquarters and Jobs in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lockheed Martin, a global leader in security and aerospace, announced today that they have reached an agreement, subject to legislative and union approval, to retain and grow approximately 8,000 jobs at Sikorsky Aircraft until 2032, keep the Sikorsky headquarters here in Connecticut, and increase investments in in-state suppliers. Sikorsky, which has been in Connecticut for more than 85 years, was purchased by Lockheed Martin from United Technologies in November 2015.
